Dr. Christopher Van Issum, Oculoplastic, Lacrimal and Orbital consultant from Geneva, Switzerland was on official mission to Mauritius from 03 October to 7 October 2022.
During his visit, Dr Christopher Van Issum has assessed 35 patients with complex ophthalmological cases at New Souillac Hospital.
11 Patients requiring surgery have successfully been operated at New Souillac Hospital during his visit.
Doctors, staff and patients have largely benefited from hi expertise, with most of the patients experiencing immediate improvements in their symptoms.
Dr Sanutha who has assisted Dr Van Issum, will take over the follow up of patients who have been operated and require oculoplastic management in the OPD.
