In January 2013, Professor Cyrus Tabatabay stayed for two weeks in Mauritius, working at the Moka Eye Hospital. During this visit, he examined all of the 105 patients on the waiting list for corneal transplant and confirmed the indication for about thirty of these patients.

Moka Eye Hospital and T.E.S. team have started to undertake the surgical grafts, with ten patients having been transplanted the first week.

Nowadays, most of the corneal transplants are carried out by the Mauritian Ophthalmologists under the supervision of the senior fellow of T.E.S. Foundation, Prof. Cyrus Tabatabay and other training visitors.

Corneal grafts are obtained from Sri Lanka thanks to the assistance and the financial support of the Lions Club of Port Louis.

Corneal grafts have just been delivered at the Hospital.
